The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed Wednesday by a sport utility vehicle driven by her brother, according to authorities .The five year old was hit in the driveway of the family's home by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by her teenage brother.No charges are expected.

Another American Idol has been crowned. David Cook claimed the "American Idol" title beating 17-year-old David Archuleta by a margin of 12 million votes. Much to the dismay of Simon Cowell who at one time declared song choices had sunk Cook, and then told Archuleta that he'd scored a "knockout" in the boxing-themed performance finale. Just before the winner was announced, Cowell uncharacteristically backtracked. He offered Cook an apology and said that the competition "wasn't quite so clear cut as we called it" — even letting on that, for the first time, he felt either finalist would have been a worthy winner.

Sheryl Crow has found herself a new flame, too. Life & Style reports that the singer is currently dating a restaurateur from Alabama. The special guy is said to be a pilot who “has been flying his plane to Nashville to see her.” The couple have kept things low-key, but the magazine reports that she might be stepping out with the new beau when she plays a May 23 show in Pelham, Ala., which isn’t far from Birmingham.

Rosie O'Donnell doesn't agree with everything Barbara Walters said about her on The Oprah Winfrey Show Tuesday.

"I love her," the former host of The View wrote on her Web site's Q & A page, when asked her thoughts on Walters's interview.
Walters told Oprah that she thought O'Donnell "regretted" writing her 2007 book Celebrity Detox, and that was why she didn't promote the book.

"It was so full of anger at me," Walters said. "I got into bed and pulled the covers over my head and said, 'I think I'll stay here until a week from Tuesday.' " She added, "I think she kind of regretted the book."

Not so, O'Donnell wrote in her trademark freeform prose:

And when a fan who had watched the Oprah interview asked O'Donnell if she has "rage issues" – Walters said that at one point during O'Donnell's tenure on The View, "the audience tuned in every day to see who [Rosie] was going to hate" – O'Donnell made light of it:
