A very pregnant Nicole Kidman spoke to the UN yesterday. Nicole has urged world leaders and ordinary people to join the global fight to end violence against women.
The actress, seven months pregnant and passionately committed to her role as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. Development Fund for Women, said Tuesday the violence was probably the "most widespread human rights violation of our time."

The 10th annual Roger Ebert's Film Festival opens this evening in Roger Ebert's home town in Illinois. Ebert may have to miss it due to a hip injury last week. The critic injured his hip Thursday evening at the Pritikin Longevity Center and Spa in Florida, where he was undergoing physical therapy.
