The 50 year old pop star has certainly had her changes in fashion over the years.
We have seen her go in punk, Marilyn Monroe, Eva Peron and a geisha.

Who can't forget the whole '80s thing - blondes with bad roots wearing lace gloves and lots of chains. Don't forget about Madonna's Kabbalah and yoga as lifestyle trends be where they are today without her?

Lately Madonna is in preparation for her "Sticky & Sweet" world tour that will be partially outfitted by Givenchy. The tour is starting in Cardiff August 23, but also a second outfit.

The outfit for the opening number, worn with a waistcoat and trimmed with jet beads, is influenced by "Gangster Pimp" and "Art Deco", according to the house.

The second outfit breaks with Madonna's long-running taste for the dominatrix style with a gypsy-style black cape lined in fuschia and a black stretch chiffon dress trimmed with coloured ribbons and coloured metal chains.

Madonna earlier this year threw on another Givenchy number -- a black dress with lots of metal chain -- for her video of "Give It 2 Me."

Other designers getting a piece of the action for this tour include Tom Ford with suits for the band, Miu Miu and Stella McCartney with footwear, Moschino with sunglasses while there are also other contributions from Yves Saint Laurent, Roberto Cavalli and Jeremy Scott, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Obama made Vanity Fair's International Best-Dressed List for the second year in a row, based on a poll of fashion insiders in the issue that hits newsstands Wednesday.

"Michelle Obama connects to the modern woman. She has a real woman look to her but is even bigger and better," said Amy Fine Collins, a special correspondent for the magazine. "She has a sleek style that's not overdone. ... She's beautifully dressed without too much fuss. She puts on the dress and goes — and it's always a good dress."

Michelle was born on January 17, 1964, to Marian and Fraser Robinson on Chicago's South Side and graduated from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago's West Loop. After high school Michelle went on to Princeton University where in 1985 she graduated with a B.A. in sociology and a minor in African American studies. After college, Michelle continued her education at Harvard Law School, where she earned her degree in 1988.

For three years after law school, Michelle worked as an associate in the area of marketing and intellectual property at Chicago law firm Sidley and Austin, where she met Barack Obama. She left the corporate law world in 1991 to pursue a career in public service, serving as an assistant to the mayor and then as the assistant commissioner of planning and development for the City of Chicago.

In 1993, she became the founding executive director of Public Allies - Chicago, a leadership training program that received AmeriCorps National Service funding and helped young adults develop skills for future careers in the public sector.

Michelle began her involvement with the University of Chicago in 1996. As associate dean of student services, she developed the University's first community service program. Michelle also served as executive director of community and external affairs until 2005, when she was appointed vice president of community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She also managed the business diversity program.

Getty, who suffered from advanced dementia, was said to have been under 5 feet and under 100 pounds.

Born Estelle Scher to Polish immigrants in New York, Getty fell in love with theater when she saw a vaudeville show at age 4. She was a perennial award nominee for The Golden Girls, which ran for seven seasons, from 1985-1992. She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her work as Sophia Petrillo.

Media By Numbers says the new Batman movie from Warner Bros. brought in $18.5 million Friday from its midnight screening in 3,040 theaters.

"Madden Football" marks 20 years with new offerings

Nearing its 20th anniversary with the "John Madden Football" videogame, franchise publisher Electronic Arts is planning to celebrate the occasion.

The music industry is a tie-in between the game's soundtrack and the "Rock Band" videogame. (EA serves as the game's distributor, which is actually published by MTV.)

On August 12, EA will host Maddenpalooza, a one-day "Madden 09" game tournament and concert featuring such bands from the soundtrack as Good Charlotte, Airbourne and From First to Last.

Under the deal, "Rock Band" will feature music from the "Madden 09" soundtrack in its weekly downloadable songs update, a handful at a time, over several weeks, with each song carrying the "Madden" brand. Additionally, each soundtrack song will be available for sale via iTunes as part of a special "Madden" playlist.

EA is also offering fans who pre-order the game from Target an iTunes gift card worth 10 free downloads once they pick up the title.

A special 20th-anniversary collector's edition of "Madden 09" will include a version of the new "NFL Head Coach" game, which won't be available to gamers until three weeks after the "Madden 09" launch. The collector's edition will also bundle the classic "John Madden Football '93" game and exclusive video content that includes footage of cover athlete Brett Favre.

Goodman died Sunday at Englewood (New Jersey) Hospital and Medical Center, said Joan Adams, a close family friend. The actress had been ill for some time and had lived in the Actors Fund Home in Englewood since October, Adams said. . DeGeneres picked up the honor during the 35th annual Daytime Emmy ceremony at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres and cooking-lifestyle guru Rachael Ray shared the Daytime Emmy spotlight as they split television's top two awards for entertainment talks shows.

Veteran "General Hospital" star Anthony Geary, who plays the popular Luke Spencer character, won his sixth trophy as best lead actor. "General Hospital" was named best daytime drama series for a record 10th year.

Although her program lost out to Ray, DeGeneres pulled off a triumph for a fourth straight year as best talk show host. In doing so, she prevailed again over the co-hosting ensemble of "The View," led by creator-producer Barbara Walters and newly installed moderator Whoopi Goldberg.

Regis Philbin, received a lifetime achievement award recognizing his 47 years in the business.

"I never take this for granted," DeGeneres, 50, said taking the stage to accept the prize. "This has been a crazy year and ... we've done a lot of crying and a lot of laughing, and I cried all by myself and then people laughed."

Last October DeGeneres cried on air show as she recounted how an animal rescue group took back a puppy she had adopted because she had given the dog, Iggy, to a friend without first notifying the agency.

Another moment Friday night came as Jennifer Landon, 24, the daughter of the late TV star Michael Landon ("Bonanza," "Little House on the Prairie") saluted her father in French as she accepted her third consecutive award as best younger actress for her role on "As the World Turns."

"It was a little salute to my pops: 'For you always, I love you,"' she said backstage when asked for a rough translation.

British supermodel Naomi Campbell admitted assaulting two police officers as she was ejected from a plane at London's Heathrow airport in a furious row over lost luggage.

The 38-year-old subjected the captain of the British Airways flight and police to a barrage of foul-mouthed abuse, spitting and swearing and accusing them of victimisation because she was black, a west London court was told.

Campbell, who last year was handed community service and forced to undergo anger management therapy after admitting assaulting her maid in New York, pleaded guilty to six charges in relation to the incident on April 3 this year.

The assault charge carries a maximum six-month prison sentence and a fine of up to 5,000 pounds (6,300 euros, 9,900 dollars).

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to four of the six charges she was facing – two counts of assaulting a police constable; one of using threatening, abusive words or behavior to cabin crew; and one of using insulting, abusive, threatening behavior or disorderly conduct likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The Crown Prosecution Service has decided not to pursue the other two charges.

"Ms. Campbell was aggressive, hostile and violent to people who were simply trying to do their jobs," C.P.S. director Nazir Afzal said in a statement. "Her behaviour fell far short of what is acceptable."

Tommy Lee told Rolling Stone that he and Pam Anderson are making another go of it 10 years after their 1998 divorce.

"We've only given it a try 800 times – 801, here we go," Lee says. "Pamela and the kids have moved in with me. It's awesome. It's definitely working."

Friends of Lee's tell PEOPLE this time may be the charm. "They are two people who have been through a lot and know each other really well," says one.

The thrice-married, 40-year-old Anderson – whose five-month marriage to Rick Salomon was annulled in March (her other husband, of four months, was Kid Rock) – recently told Ellen DeGeneres on her TV show that she was not dating and, in fact, wasn't even sure of her type of man.

Now retracing past steps, friends say the couple "are happy," and so are their sons Dylan, 10, and Brandon, 12.

"You can tell on the kids' faces," Lee told Rolling Stone. "They're happy when we're together."

Reps for Lee and Anderson had no comment.

An investor group led by NBC and Universal in very interested in buying The Weather Channel . They are willing to pay more than $3 billion to do so, according to people briefed on the negotiations said.

Landmark Communications, the privately held owner of the Weather Channel, is putting the weather-news heavyweight up for sale as part of a break-up of itself. It separately auctioned off its newspaper holdings, including The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, The News & Record of Greensboro, N.C., and The Roanoke Times in Virginia, as well as 50 community newspapers.

The Weather Channel is one of the last privately owned cable channels, rooted in basic cable and once described by a potential bidder as “beachfront property.”

It came to us as a shock.
Tim Russert, NBC Anchor and the longest-tenured host of the Sunday talk show "Meet the Press." died of a heart attack . Russert, 58,

Russert was NBC's Washington bureau chief. He wrote two best-selling books, including the much-loved "Big Russ and Me" about his relationship with his father.

NBC interrupted its regular programming with news of Russert's death and continued for several hours of coverage without commercial break. The network announced that Tom Brokaw would anchor a special edition of "Meet the Press" on Sunday, dedicated to Russert.

NBC says that Russert died of a heart attack. Michael A. Newman, Russert's internist, said resuscitation was begun immediately and continued at Sibley Memorial Hospital, to no avail. An autopsy was pending, Newman said.

Russert, of Buffalo, N.Y., took the helm of the Sunday news show in December 1991 and turned it into the nation's most widely watched program of its type.

Russert was also a senior vice president at NBC, and this year Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

He had Buffalo's blue-collar roots, a Jesuit education, a law degree and a Democratic pedigree that came from his turn as an aide to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York.
The network said on its Web site that Russert had been recording voiceovers for this Sunday's "Meet The Press" when he was stricken.

Vinyl to Return???

An employee for the Portland-based company owned by The Kroger Co., made an error and ordered a special CD-DVD edition of R.E.M.'s latest release "Accelerate" by entering the "LP" code instead of the CD-DVD code. Some of the lps were shipped back while a few were put on the shelves. They started selling. The company says, based on the response so far, it plans to roll out vinyl in July in all its stores that sell music.
Best Buy is testing sales at some stores. And online music giant Amazon.com, which has sold vinyl for most of the 13 years it has been in business online, created a special vinyl-only section last fall.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, manufacturers' shipments of LPs jumped more than 36 percent from 2006 to 2007 to more than 1.3 million. Shipments of CDs dropped more than 17 percent during the same period to 511 million, as they lost some ground to digital formats. In 2007, sales of vinyls made up 7% of all music sales. 25% of those sales were made by people age 45 and older.

The resurgence of vinyl centers on a long-standing debate over analog versus digital sound. Digital recordings capture samples of sound and place them very close together as a complete package that sounds nearly identical to continuous sound to many people.
Analog recordings on most LPs are continuous, which produces a truer sound -- though, paradoxically, some new LP releases are being recorded and mixed digitally but delivered analog.

The interest seems to be catching on. Turntable sales are picking up, and the few remaining record pressers say business is booming. .

Nearly 450 million CDs were sold last year, versus just under 1 million LPs, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Based on the first three months of this year, Nielsen says vinyl album sales could reach 1.6 million in 2008. .

Bo Diddley's funeral

Diddley, 79, died of heart failure Monday at his home in nearby Archer.

For four hours, friends and relatives sang, danced and celebrated the life of the man who helped give birth to rock and roll with a signature beat that influenced Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones and many others.

As family members passed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's casket, a gospel band played his namesake song. Within moments, the crowd of several hundred began clapping in time and shouting, "Hey, Bo Diddley!"

Diddley was born in McComb, Miss. He moved to rural Archer in the early 1980s and had a recording studio on his 76 acres. Diddley, who was born Ellas Bates and became Ellas McDaniel when he took the last name of a cousin who raised him, was remembered for much more than his songs. Friends recounted his generosity, manifested in concerts for the homeless and work with youth groups and other charities; and the way he loved to talk to just about anybody he met.
After beginning his career as a boxer, where he received the sobriquet "Bo Diddley", the singer worked the blues clubs of Chicago with a repertoire influenced by Louis Jordan, John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters.

The funeral was followed by a tribute concert featuring his touring band and other musicians.

Eric Burdon, leader of the rock group The Animals, attended the service, and flowers were sent from musicians including Jerry Lee Lewis, Tom Petty, George Thorogood and others.

His brother, the Rev. Kenneth Haynes of Biloxi, Miss., said Diddley always asked how he could help and what he could give. "There was one thing he wouldn't give me. That's his hat," Haynes said, referring to the black hat the musician was also known for.

Television sports journalist Jim McKay has died of natural causes in Maryland, according to a statement from the McKay family.

McKay is best known for hosting "ABC's Wide World of Sports" and 12 Olympic Games.

McKay won numerous awards for journalism, including the George Polk Memorial Award and two Emmys -- one for his sports coverage, the other for his news reporting -- for his work at the 1972 Munich Olympics, which were tragically affected by the Black September terrorists' attack on the Israeli athletes in the Olympic Village.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II, McKay was the first on-air television broadcaster seen in Baltimore. McKay was the first sportscaster to win an Emmy Award. He won 12, the last in 1988. ABC calculated that McKay traveled some 4 1/2 million miles to work events. He covered more than 100 different sports in 40 countries.

It's been a bit more than a week since the infamous phone call was released that features Hulk Hogan and his son discussion how they could financially benefit from the unfortunate circumstances that landed Nick Bollea in jail and a (former) friend comatose.

Deputies at a west Florida jail have transferred Hulk Hogan's son out of solitary confinement into a communal cell. that S 17year-old Nick Bollea is now sharing with three other juvenile inmates.

Bollea was initially was segregated because he is a minor who had been convicted in adult court.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda says housing assignments are routinely reviewed because the jail's population constantly changes. That created an opportunity to house juveniles together.

Bollea is serving an eight-month sentence after pleading no contest to causing a crash that seriously injured his friend. Bollea was drag racing under the influence of alcohol when his car crashed.

The Hogan family has been criticized for not doing more for the comatose victim and for attempting to gain profit off of a proposed TV deal.

Another American Idol has been crowned. David Cook claimed the "American Idol" title beating 17-year-old David Archuleta by a margin of 12 million votes. Much to the dismay of Simon Cowell who at one time declared song choices had sunk Cook, and then told Archuleta that he'd scored a "knockout" in the boxing-themed performance finale. Just before the winner was announced, Cowell uncharacteristically backtracked. He offered Cook an apology and said that the competition "wasn't quite so clear cut as we called it" — even letting on that, for the first time, he felt either finalist would have been a worthy winner.
